  • RUF International

  • RUF (Rapid Urban Flexible) is a dualmode transportation concept which is able to solve the congestion problem and at the same time introduce electric cars without battery problems. The RUF system creates a network of monorail guideways in a city (see: www.ruf.dk/rufla.exe). The vehicles drive along the normal roads until they reach the network where they are moved automatically at high speed (95 mph) and with power from the guideway. When they get close to their destination, the small batteries have been recharged and the vehicle can continue along the roads to get to the destination without pollution and with very little noise. The RUF concept has been tested in Denmark and its development is supported by the Danish Government as well as the European Union. RUF is invented by Palle R Jensen.
